Our Story
Center for Strategic and Regional Studies (CSRS) is a Kabul-based independent non-profit and non-partisan policy research organization established in 2008. CSRS’s mission is to better inform and influence policy and practice by conducting high-quality, evidence-based research about Afghanistan and its region, and to nurture a culture of research.
CSRS achieves its mission through active engagement with policymakers, civil society actors, researchers, and academics, strengthening research capacity and creating platforms for constructive analysis and debate.
CSRS is registered as a non-profit research organization at the Ministry of Economy in Kabul under registration number 341, dated 17.6.1388.
CSRS aims to contribute to fact-based and thoughtful analysis and debate about Afghanistan among analysts, academics and the general public in Afghanistan and globally.
CSRS holds memberships in multiple international consortiums.
